Milton Keynes finest have been together since 2011 and, with a record deal in the bag, are currently in the studio recording their debut album. The two tracks currently available on Soundcloud are dirty, scuzzy, classy and brimming with attitude.
Lead singer Dan Buckland previously fronted Bucks favourites The Swamis (who remain my favourite 'should have been massive' band) and is a natural performer and classic frontman; exuberent, energetic and occasionally unpredictable, get down and catch these guys live and you'll be in for a treat.

We've written about these Barnsley boys before with our review of lead single Disguise Me. A punchy, Tom Morello style riff and a vocal with style and attitude, it's a promising debut and leaves you wanting more.
They're starting to make some big waves in there local area and with gigs in Manchester and Leeds already under there belt, 2015 could well be the year that see's them climb to the next level.

Formed in 2000 and with 7 studio albums under their belt, The Decemberists are veterans of the Americana scene. The sole property of hipsters until 2011's The King Is Dead suprisingly saw them break into the mainstream and hit no.1 spot in America.
This week see's the release of follow up, What A Terrible World, What A Beautiful World and the lead single, Make You Better. The new record see's the band keep the momentum going, as well as providing an early contender for video of the year

Originally from Cleethorpes but now relocated to Manchester, Orphan Boy are putting the final touches to new album Coastal Tones, the first since 2010's Passion, Pain & Loyalty. A band who made their first release in 2006, Orphan Boy have been building a growing following and if the tracks we've heard are anything to go by, big things could be on the horizon.
Featured below, Transpennine starts gently, but gradually grows and builds as the journey goes. Check back to their Twitter and Soundcloud to hear more tracks as the band stream them.

This week see's Mark Lanegan's latest tour hit the UK and, as LUM are lucky to have our name on the list (keep an eye out for the review!), we've been excitedly rifling through the Screaming Trees frontman's extensive back catalogue.
A musical juggernaught and a voice that would make Tom Waits reach for the Strepsils, Mark Lanegan is a true heavyweight who has also heavily contributed to the Queen's Of The Stoneage. As natural playing outlaw country ballads as he is at creating the vast murky soundscapes featured in Gravedigger's Song below, whatever he tries his hand at, the result is absorbing and vibrant.
