Pensive, introspective and sentimental; atmospheric. Clubs' 'Bleed' rouses you into musical wakefulness with an undercurrent of inorganic noise, exotic guitars and primeval drums.

The five piece from Leicester describe themselves as Progressive/Indie and deliver on both halves of that promise. The vocal hook in 'Bleed', 'you're everything that I need/ I'm everything that you bleed' shows that lyrical complexity and originality take a back seat in a journey led by inventive and well crafted music.

The song rises and falls with a slow thrumming drumbeat that ignites a primal flame in the echoey granite caves of our minds, and builds to an apex where drummer Chris Cox elegantly diverts into a more rhythmically complex beat with a thunderous emphasis on the crash cymbal.

The guitars provide living scenery to an inorganic landscape. 'Bleed's true pinnacle arrives when the band's guitarists get a chance to fully demonstrate their own creative abilities; calypso style lead dances incessantly over busy and rhythmic chord work and then slips neatly under the final blast of 'Bleed's catchy vocal hook.

'Bleed' is a strong single that demonstrates the band's musical prowess, definitely worth checking out.
