After digging Clubs' creative single 'Bleed', (check out our review here) Listen Up Manchester decided to ask the lads a few questions about their music, gigs and aspirations.

You all seem so fresh faced, is this your first project as musicians?

No, we’ve played together in a few projects before. But this was the first thing we enjoyed and felt it had potential.

For anyone who hasn't heard your music, what would you say makes your sound unique?

I think we’re all inspired by such a wide variety of music and have so many ideas in regards to what our sound should be, that they all blend together and form something hard to define. That’s what makes our music unique.

What's your creative process?

It varies, it can be all five of us in a room making noise, and then turning that noise into something more structured and fully-formed. Or it can be one or two of us in a different environment, going through the same process, but taking a different approach. We all tend to take on different roles whilst we write, but everybody always throwing ideas in.

Specifically in 'Bleed', there's a lot of ambient noise, was that a band decision or did your producer pitch in creatively?

In pre-production, the idea of drones and giving the record space was something we wanted to push, and when we got into the studio with Kit Monteith, he completely agreed with us. He took our ideas and developed them into what we have now. So it was definitely a 50/50 effort.

How do you recreate your tunes live, do you have to approach the music differently?

Recently, we’ve started to include samples, to recreate the elements created in the studio. It’s nice having something else to put in to your live show and makes a big difference.

What's been your most memorable gig and why?

Definitely our Christmas show (CLUBSmas) back in December @ The Cookie Jar. We had our good friends Pixel Fix supporting and it was completely sold out. Just massive festive vibes and loads of tinsel.

You're working with Sonic PR who have some pretty big names on their roster, how does it feel to be working with them and to be getting some attention nationally?

It’s good to be getting recognition for something we put a lot of work into, and nice to be on a roster which includes Little Dragon and Nick Cave.

Finally, where do you hope to be in a year's time?

Just to keep progressing, and get bigger and better.
